Marriott Category Changes Announced Today Too! And It's Gonna Be UGLY...
To quote Marriott's website's own words:
Check out what hotels are changing—and maximize your points.
On March 6, 2018, the Marriott Rewards® annual category changes will take effect. This year, 74% will stay the same, 21% will move up and 5% will move down.
You can take a moment to review the list now and make the most of your points. Book now to take advantage of the current redemption rate in destinations like Montreal, Phuket, Charlestonnd more, before the 2018 category changes take effect.

With only 5% moving down, here's the ones I saw that I liked due to the option of getting upgraded with status to a 2 bedroom suite:
Residence Inn Fort Lauderdale Weston is going down from a category 5 to a 4
Residence Inn Calgary South is going down from a 4 to a 3 (15K points per night)
TownePlace Suites Saskatoon is going down from a 2 to a 1 (but it might be not have been renovated forever)
Going Up--SOOO many--including:
Residence Inn Boca Raton--from a 5 to a 6 (crazy--it's all about location--it's an old school Residence Inn that I don't think has seen a renovation in a long time--and it going up???)
Residence Inn Tampa--all 4 locations--from a 4 to a 5
